Discipline
We want to provide a pleasant, orderly, and loving atmosphere where children are able to concentrate on their work, follow the lessons taught without hindrance and have the security of knowing that their “workplace” is a safe place. Unless discipline is properly and consistently maintained, this is not possible. Therefore, teachers will have the responsibility for establishing an atmosphere of motivated, disci- plined learning in the classrooms. They will expect obedience and respect and will maintain control of classroom behavior. At the discretion of the Principal, parents will be asked to become involved in the discipline process. Parents have primary responsibility for the discipline of their children. The staff will be expected to keep parents informed of disciplinary infractions so that Bethel American International School can work cooperatively with the parents for the benefit of their children. The Principal reserves the right to suspend or expel students, in accordance with the discipline policy out- lined in the Parent/Student Handbook. We anticipate excellent behavior and a spirit of cooperation between the school, the students, and the parents.
